Discuss Good Morning Thread - Come say good morning, tell us what you've got on today. :) in the The Electrical Exchange area at ElectriciansForums.net

We have this thread on TilersForums.com and it's just been restarted because the old thread had 20,000 replies and 500,000 views. And there were 700 pages. Started to lag a bit on slow connections.

I think we had a bash of this before, but I can't find the thread, so thought I'd start another one off.

If you have time in the mornings, come post in the thread before you head off to work, let us know what you've got on and what the weather is like in your area etc. Anything at all is fine. :)

Posts and likes get counted towards your total stats in this thread.

So GOOOD MORNING PEOPLE - WEATHER IS NICE TODAY IN STOKE. I'M THANKFUL IT'S FRIDAY, HAD A RUBBISH WEEK. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

Well, todays job is done. I'm currently sat in the sun by the 'beach' in Grain looking over at Southend. Been stuffing my self with 2 Cadburys caramel doughnuts followed by an injection of insulin. Going to go for walk now. Wish I had my dog with me.

Well it has been a busy week and I can't believe that these weeks are rolling around so fast.

Anyone going to watch the Eurovision tomorrow?

That's todays job over. Now the drive from Kent to S.Wales to look forward to 🙁

Ahem….

Look at the recent posts from this year.

My kid has done everything… printed up score sheets… she’s going out to decide on party food today for tomorrow….

All I can say is…. Go Olly!

Not this morning…. But late last night….

“I want to go to Norway to see the Northern Lights!”

“You’ve got the Northern Lights at home”

The Northern Lights at home:-

Edit.
There was a thread started just for this that I didn’t notice…. So I put my other photos up over there….

My wife bought us a very expensive trip 90 miles inside the Artic circle for my 60th birthday (can't believe this was sixteen years ago) we stayed in a Tin mining town, when the seam ran out they moved the town on skids to follow the seam, the Northern lights where impressive, but my lasting memory is the ten dog sledge team I drove to a Elk skin tent for lunch you had to stand on the brake the whole time or the dogs would run to exhaustion.

Eurovision.

What the heck is going on?

There’s 2 issues… unconnected.
The whole Israel thing, and now the Netherlands entry has been disqualified after an “incident”

And before that…. Two….. TWO!! episodes of new doctor who

Longish day today. Start off at home, s Wales, drive to Coryton in Essex, get my job done then drive up to Spalding ready for tomorrows job. At least the weather is cooler today.

I was going to complain about needing to go to Coventry today but I won’t now! Safe travels.

Good to see Bagpuss winning the Eurovision song contest though.
The song was Break the Code…. They ended up breaking the trophy…

The staging for their performance included jumping onto a disk shaped platform that would tip over at appropriate times…
I thought off-stage controlled hydraulics…. Solenoids clicking in and out…..

How wrong I was…

It was two guys dressed in black, just off camera, leaning on the platform.

That's the magic of theatre!

Automation is more common these days, especially on big name shows like cursed child and stranger things, but there is still a heck of a lot of things that are operated by members of the crew.

I think the last time I did anything like that I was one of 4/6 crew, in full blacks inc balaclavas, operating a rather large T-Rex for the well known 'dinosaur scene' in a robin hood pantomime 🤣

Good Morning All,

How is everyone? Did you all enjoy the sun?

How are you finding the ads at the moment?

just back from my morning beach walk, and going to have a lazy day followed by supper at a beach bar this evening, with live music hopefully

I don't get adverts

Good morning (nearly) will be doing an all nighter (sober these days too lol) in the code. Won't see any changes. And I'll be checking a shed load of stats that alone takes 8 hours per forum but will just be doing sparky this morning.

Then on in the day a few blogs need knocking up. And the discussion threads (the links in a thread to the blog) isn't getting any attention it feels like a link just for links sake so need totally reword that automatically generated thread. So that's a bit of coding.

Other than that I'll be on the forum literally all Thursday. And been doing email stuff today.

This is what running a business looks like I guess and you all run yours well... I think.

And I saw Tel somewhere haven't found his post yet don't have time reply will look later.

His name has cropped up a couple of times….
I think the metric vs imperial thread?? Anywhere where he gets to have a moan about being different in his day….

The site I’m on are keeping a hold of a cherry picker they had for another job so that I can go up and remove some high up old light fittings and redundant cables this morning……

So, of course, it’s raining.

Of course, outside lights and cctv always need fixing or installing in the wind, rain, snow, hail etc.

In the summer you are more likely to have to sweat it out in a tiny loft space trying to find some old forgotten junction box.

I've just done a search. I have only just seen it.
