Keeping track of hours per job

Is there any software or the like about that can log the amount of hours spent on a job? Using a diary at the moment and some non priced jobs don't get completed and invoiced with a large break in them, and totting up the amount of hours on the job through a diary is a bit of a pain - also very easy to miss some.

I use quick books pro, and using the estimate function I add a line per "day" visited so when the invoice is finally printed it gives me and the customer a record of the dates and lengths of my visits.

You still need to be disciplined to add the lines in the estimates and I use my phone calender to record the time/length of visits.

Works for me.

I stick mine onto the calander on my phone, but then I'll often round up hours, to days and half days.

Gives me time to jump in the Porsche, and go to the Wine bar for a couple of glasses of Shampoo between jobs.
