Hi everyone. I've recently bought a coffee machine but didn't notice that the plug is NEMA 1-15P. I'm living in Asia and we're typical using a 3 pin wall socket. I used a travel adapter but unfortunately the fuse fried. I've ordered an adapter for conversion to 2 pin but don't know if that works. Need advise. Thanks.

Check the voltage rating!

If it is fitted with a 1-15 plug it is intended for use on 120V but Brunei uses 240V. Many appliances with heating elements such as a coffee machine are single voltage, unlike electronic goods that will often accept any voltage. Connecting a 120V-only machine to 230V might destroy it or at best blow the internal fuses / thermal cutouts.

If the voltage is compatible, I recommend fitting a 3-pin plug onto the coffee machine flex, as 1-15 plugs do not have shrouded pins and are significantly more dangerous at 240V, and many adaptors are themselves poorly made or inherently dangerous.
