Hi all,

We have a limited in house PAT testing requirement and were advised that the TIS700 fitted our needs.

The unit works fine for 110V and 230V extension lead testing, but we're having issues testing 4 and 5 pin 415V extensions.

We are using adaptors that came with our (very) old PAT tester, which worked fine for basic Earth continuity and Insulation tests, but this unit does L-N, L-E and N-E checks and fails. Our 415 adaptors have all power/neutral pins connected to the Neutral of the 13A plug cable, which is obviously the issue.

So, for the test to pass my thinking is:
1. Connect 13A plug Earth to 415V connector earth
2. Connect 13A Plug Live to 415V connector L1 & L2 (as a single phase analog)
3. Connect 13A Plug Neutral to 415V connector L3 (and Neutral if 5 pin)

Obviously these adaptors will be clearly and permanently labelled as PAT test only and stored safely.

Any reason the above would not work/be adviseable? Or if you have the TIS700, how have you managed to get around this issue?
