im looking for a little extra advice as i keep getting told different things.

what im looking at doing is putting up 3/4 outside security lights and was wondering, which way is the best to wire them so they will work as motion detection and be controlled off a light switch.

can you wire them like a normal lighting circuit taking a permanent live to fitting and looping through to the others and then dropping a switched live to a switch from one of the lights using 2core and earth?

cheers

Yes you can loop in and out from each fitting with a switch and/or a PIR for them all. Be aware of the lamps you/they use, eg 4 x 500w halogens. Check the rating of the PIR and switch + cable.

yeh each fitting will have its own pir as its picking up different areas of the house. well if the fittings bought do have 500w just have to wang a 10a breaker in, 1.5 mm will still be fine.
