I'd fit 35mm just through personal prefrence. The extra 10mm is worth it in my eyes.

Im not a very experienced sparky.

its likely there would be 2-3 sets of cable maybe even 4?

Do you know much about kind of circuit it is? Because judging by that statement things don't sound right there!

Personally I would make sure the circuit it properly wired, ring or otherwise, before you think about what kind of boxes to sink.
