UV stable cables

Hello everyone

Can anyone recommend any good quality UV-resistannt cable for lighting. None [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]armoured, the only cable i have seen used is the stuff in TLC direct called NYY-J, good cable but quite think, or is the only way you get it to be UV resistant cable.

I am a bit sceptical about buying cable of the internet as i am not sure what i am getting before you get it.

i just use black flex.

As per Tel. Black flex is chemically different to ...white flex, as in it is in fact UV resistant. In a chemical way.

personally I'd use ho7-rnf, which is a tough rubber flex.

Only white sheathed is suitable for outside, red sheathed is not

I wouldn't say suitable, the manufacturers info says (or at least used to say) something like if external use is unavoidable then only white may be used and should be kept out of direct sunlight. They don't really approve it for external use.

I'm sure we've all seen FP200 outside which has gone a bit crispy in the sunshine!

Yes. Seen some buried 2 cm under a lawn too, all the way across a 200ft lawn, with the red poking up every now and again. How the mower missed it...

Thank for your suggestion, could you recommend a place to buy that cable. I googled it but wondered if you know of a good place to get it from.
