Hello Everyone. I'm surprised this subject does not get much attention. 'The elephant in the room' I refer to is the 'new rubber'.
On new appliances I buy the flex / cable sheathing is far stiffer than stuff I bought say 10 years ago. Also the so-called 'rubberised' extension sockets are nothing like the old sockets I still have. The cheap quality plastic seems brittle and not long-lasting. The term 'rubber' is being misused as there is hardly any stretch at all.
I wonder what professionals and those who are used to better-quality and 'real' rubber electrical items think of this drop in quality. Also can you still buy good quality mains cabling for rewiring appliances?
Regards
