    Online 18th training

I recently did the 18th Edition online course with XS Training. It's not a video-based course, but they have web pages (slides) for each section of the regs which allows you to go over the course material in your own time which I liked.

2365 lvl 2&3 is it worth it?

    1) I believe you do need to do Level 2 as well as Level 3 as they cover different areas and topics. There is very little practical involved in Level 3 whereas Level 2 covers practical techniques in much greater depth. Level 3 also goes into testing much more which leads into your next question...

Industrial lighting for home use - UK

That is a CW SWA Gland, the gland you need is a "Compression Gland for Flat Cable". They can be bought very cheaply from your local electrical wholesaler or any other DIY Shop, they should look like this: You can take the old metal SWA Gland out, replace it with one of these and just feed the...

    Multifunction Tester

I spoke to them last Friday for a quote, in hindsight I probably should have asked them then, though in all honestly I was more focused on seeing if they would do me a discount :D

    Multifunction Tester

Hey, this might seem like a silly question but I am only a trainee so please bear with me. I've been looking at purchasing a multifunction tester, more specifically a megger 1741. The thought hit me, would if be worth waiting until after the release of the 18th edition? Im a little worried that...

    Megger mft1741 tested today

Thinking about buying one of these 1741's on Monday. First multifunction tester for me, but used older meggers in college so am sticking with the brand. Would you say its worth the extra price for the 1741 over the 1731 / 1721

    Cowboy Electricians and Installation Certificates

I would agree that an EICR is a good place to start, that will flag up any remedial work that needs doing. As others have said, if newly qualified it might be worth getting a more experienced spark in to do an EICR
