Do you have to become Part P registered to certify work?

C,mon every trade has their rouge tradesmen who have no pride in their work or respect for their customer and have a "that will do attitude" Sorry you seem to have found so many but its certainly not how my company or subcontractors conduct themselves.

Do you have to become Part P registered to certify work?

TBF you do not know who is looking at the certs and it could be a trained spark with a lifetime of electrical knowledge? I have been informed they do have some working for the LBC LBC will certainly inspect or check the first few jobs or appoint someone else to check my work which I strongly...

Do you have to become Part P registered to certify work?

I did not write the regs but thats what they require. I agree qualifications do not make you competent but I do now have a reference from a registered spark for some of the work I have done that he has checked and signed off on and willing to vouch the work I do and have done coincides with all...

11 days later and I finally have a reply from the LBC which is below Good Afternoon Further to your e-mail, from the information/ C&G details you are competent to carry out this type of works. Your two choices would be to become a member of one of the Part P self certification schemes or on each...

    Plasterers it’s your job!!

If I chase I always fill with bonding plaster to help them out when it comes to plastering takes me 5 mins and speeds their job up but I will defo be using the brown tape method from now on ;-)

    Plasterers it’s your job!!

Had exactly the same this week. 8 sockets in a kitchen and every single one plastered over and took me ages to dig it all out. So next time I chase and run cables I'm going to leave them live so every time the plasterer goes near it he gets a shock. Might keep him away from the socket :-)

Well for the past 8 days I have sent the same email to LBC asking them what I need to do to certify the work and what they want to see from me to prove I can do the work 8 emails later and still nothing so I've made it my first morning chore to resend the original email everyday until I do get...

Do you have to become Part P registered to certify work?

I've been validated by Norfolk County Council on their Trusted Trader scheme which is regulated by Trading standards and references left on Referenceline. Is it worth it? Costs £195 + VAT and it is bit of an arduous process however so far this year I've had 26 jobs from it averaging from £500 -...

Do you have to become Part P registered to certify work?

I worked in the offshore industry for over 20 years and everything is RA, TBT, you can't fart without someone signing it off. I ran a team of 30 guys and they would be pressure testing at 4000bar running gear off 100kVA generators. Every morning would be a TBT go through what was happening and...

Do you have to become Part P registered to certify work?

Thanks did not think of Stroma. The problem is my mate would do the work but chasing one cable for a cooker when it takes 1/2 an hour to do holds up the tiler who is waiting for the plasterer to finish, who is waiting for a sparkie to turn up and chase and wire one circuit. When you have...
