    Thanks the landlord has already contacted an electrician, he suspects a faulty time clock. I'm just curious. The immersion had clearly blown and needed replacing. Its that classic mix of plumber and sparky, like an electric shower. So if that circuit doesn't come live than how does the time...

    Hi I recently replaced the bottom immersion on an economy 7 cylinder. After installing I tried to test the immersion using my multi meter. The fuse spur leading to the immersion has a time clock mounted on the face. I switched this to continuous, nothing. I removed the face of the fuse spur...

    Ahh yes I see what you mean, its connecting onto one of the element connections. Perhaps someones tried to reconnect it or bodged it connecting a new stat? To be honest I just took one look at it and said new immersion. I'm pricing one up now, Gledhill Sh010 £60 online.
