    Outdoor Socket Supply

Thanks all for your replies. The T&E & SWA connect in a big white connector block in the Wiska box (60a I guess?). I was wrong, the cable running from house is actually 6mm not 10mm- which may make adding an extra cable easier. I will post a picture later of the connections. Again, thanks for...

    Outdoor Socket Supply

Hi all I am in the process of having some garden renovations done and would like to have an additional outdoor socket installed. I have a Cabin in the garden; a 10mm cable runs from the DB on a 32a RCBO up to an exterior Wiska box, where it connects to a SWA and runs underground to the cabin...

Mini Fridge causing TV to black out !

I tried a desk fan, and it caused exactly the same issue, so that puts my mind at rest that it’s nothing wrong with the fridge I’ve removed the IR extender and ordered the better one (or at least I hope it’s better!) Thanks for all your help - I think , fingers crossed, it’s solved

Mini Fridge causing TV to black out !

Yes I'm thinking of going for this type: Wireless IR Extender, 20-60kHz Support - from LINDY UK - https://www.lindy.co.uk/audio-video-c2/extenders-c181/wireless-ir-extender-20-60khz-support-p9123 which does not involve HDMI at all, rather it's own wireless signal to transmit the IR. With...

Mini Fridge causing TV to black out !

Yes it was done by an electrician who we've used for various things over the years, I don't know the ins and outs but I have a reasonable understanding as I had a nose around when he'd finished first fix. There was no power in the garage before, so a big cable comes from the main DB on a 32a mcb...

Mini Fridge causing TV to black out !

Should the fridge be causing this? Should I just get the fridge replaced? It's a brand new Husky beer fridge - the fact it's causing this does it mean it's faulty or normal?

Yes with the IR receiver unplugged the interference goes away Yes I will definitely give the radio test a go over the weekend. What is the inline mains filter, where could I get one of those?

Mini Fridge causing TV to black out !

I've just tr Thank you, so... I've tried what you suggested. Ran an extension cord from the hallway which is a different circuit, fridge is cutting in and out with no interference to anything. I have "sort of" fixed it after lots of extension leads and unplugging/plugging in cables.... and...

Mini Fridge causing TV to black out !

I should add that when the screen goes blank, if I change the input channel on the receiver, and put it back to the one it was on, it's fine again even whilst the fridge is running.

Mini Fridge causing TV to black out !

Hi all, My apologies in advance if this is posted in the wrong category, there were a few options it could've potentially fallen under. We have just completed our garage to home cinema conversion, but having a small (major!) issue. In the Cinema we have all the usual tech you'd expect, a...

    Wiring to Cabin from House?

I've been in contact with an Electrician friend today who came round pretty swiftly to have a look, he's advised me what'd be involved and has found a suitable route to run an SWA cable from the CU in the house. As I said, it's a townhouse, the consumer unit is just inside the front door next to...

    Wiring to Cabin from House?

Thanks for your replies. No, we couldn't run the cable round the house as it's not detached, It's a townhouse in between two others Not too sure on the Earthing system, sorry. No metal fittings or copper pipes in the cabin. 6mm only because I've done a bit of research prior and from what I...

    Wiring to Cabin from House?

Morning All, Wondered if anybody could give me some advice. We've recently moved into a new property and are having a cabin built at the end of the garden which is about 6 meters away from the house. I am looking to get some power in there for a light, 400W heater, and also run a water pump...
