    (The garage needs lights, appliances (a motorised platform, hairdryer, 2kw heater etc.), an electric shower. I suggested 6A radial in 1.5mm TW/E for lights, 32A ring in 2.5mm TW/E for sockets (or 4mm radial), 40A radial for shower (assume @10kW) in 6mm TW/E (its a short free clipped run)...

    Maths??? 16 + 4 = ? No not 19 but 20 !! and even then, i for one would not deem that as competent or qualified. Equation is as follows in my eyes :(Knowledge)+(Qualification)+(common sense)+(experience)= competancy

    Hawkesworth have been using "Visual only" stickers for years!! I've noticed these in my local Sainsbury's. Guess where? Yess the monitors and printers which are fed fronm PSU's, which of course are ELV and do not come under the scope of PAT. Money-making scam me thinks.

    Be carefull who you call "not very bright" , I have been inspecting and testing since 1989 on most industrial and commercial installations. Your attitude does somehow show me that you are indeed a sorry example of a tradesperson.(have another GOOD look at what your previous post describes !) ...

    Had an electrician around to do an EICR but was given a quote for work instead.

    Stay well clear of this cowboy, I do not know which regs book he takes all this from. Particular liked the one about different make of MCB to the make of CU being "illegal"?? , if this was the case, then half of all installations i test would be condemned!!!!
