I Need Work Experienced Electrician in East Essex

I have been sparking on and off since 1980 and run a self employed business which has employed up to 8 people. Since the pandemic I have drawn down the business to just myself so I am looking to build relationships with anyone in the CO postcodes who can use my services. NAPIT registered...

Can't find a reg on it, but it just seems wrong...

Thanks for that. Food for thought... and a frantic grab for the regs book again.... I didn't say it was drain pipe and I didn't confirm it was regulation standar conduit. But all said and done I can assume that 2.5mm running externally is not recommended and I need to confirm that it is...

Can't find a reg on it, but it just seems wrong...

Well! After explaining, as I went along with the client, I could see they were getting increasing frustrated at the number of faults I was uncovering. (Not that that stopped me). Turns out that another guy had visited this site, found that there were faults but rather than identifying them...

Can't find a reg on it, but it just seems wrong...

OK! A bit of a filler for you... whole story. See picture below. The cable I mentioned above goes to a metal box on a post. From there it supplies an outhouse (as mentioned) and some stables some 40m away. The outhouse is subsequently fed witha 2core and Earth rubber cable which is jointed...

Can't find a reg on it, but it just seems wrong...

I had an IR <30 Ohms between R1 and Rn and zero Ohms between R1 and R2. There was definitely evidence of degridation but that's not what I was asking.

Can't find a reg on it, but it just seems wrong...

Went to a job to check out a fault on an outhouse. Turns out that the outhouse is supplied via a 2.5mm T&E from the main house CU, which runs for several meters along an external wall (outside and unprotected) then disapears into a 50mm plastic pipe underground. The good bit is that at the other...

Amazing! All these people professing to be currently watching TV but still they have an eye on this forum. I don't watch TV normally. Just F1, the news and whatever crap the wife is watching while I throw down my supper. But I can usually just stay glued to my computer and watch it all there...

Checkatrade,Mybuilder, Myhammer ratedpeople etc etc.. Your views?

Made tentative enquiries with Checkatrade a few weeks back and was told I needed 10 customer reviews because they need to confirm those reviews but only really need 6 for me to go live. I said I'd get back to them but had no intention after seeing how much they charge. Just last week had call...

Can I start an electrical company with only Level 2?

There's also the issue of man in a van firms who have no time gained experience, no formal qualifications, no actual insurance and no real chance of being sued for all their fug ups. They start off by pricing themselves to get lots of cheap and cheerful jobs, build up a reputation (good or bad)...

Metal blanks in AMD 3 boards

I just had fish pie tonight, well two of them actually. No idea what kind of fish it was, but it definitely smelled and tasted fishy. All covered in mashed potato and loads of ketchup. It might have tasted fishy but I didn't say it tasted good. :(
