Hi all,
I've just joined the forum as I think it's important to inform those who are electricians that are thinking about expanding into automatic door servicing and installation about certain regulations.
If you are familiar with automatic doors, you will understand that they follow the...
Hi everyone
I've been asked to rewire a big period house and the owner has stipulated absolutely no smoke alarms!
I have argued the case for them and was unsure if these are a legal requirement or could these be left out of the installation on his say so.
Can anyone shed some light ?

I have scoured the internet to see if I can find a 'legal' definition of an electrician. I cannot!
I have found this:
What Is A "Qualified Electrician"? | My Local Electrician
which distinguishes between a qualified and non-qualified electrician but a 'non-qualified' electrician still has...
A customer has asked me to install a new ceramic hob to replace a gas one that requires it's own new circuit. After inspecting the DB a dual rcd model fitted about 3 years ago I noticed there were no stickers apart from an RCD one. No inspection dates and no old wiring stickers either. It seemed...
A customer wanted about 40 arcade gaming machines testing none of which had been tested before even though many were well over 10 years old. None were marked up with CE or electrical type markings of any kind but were in fact class one earthed and all had IEC leads. It soon became clear that...

Hi Guys,

I know that this does not conform to UK nor French wiring...
