looked at a job today, nothing to do with light switches, but I saw this and took a photo.

I just can’t see why this happened in the first place.

What's the tape for on the first switch?
Thats the female switch, if you have been married then I know the gaffer tape has been a thought in your mind when the wife went on and on and on about something like washing engine parts in the dish washer......
 
If I recall, the label (white tape and biro pen) said "Do not switch off"
I didn't try any of them, but at a guess, id say downstairs hallway, upstairs landing and outside light.
