I’ve just started a new apprenticeship doing new builds what drills do you suggest getting, combi, drill or impact I’ve looked on the internet and they all seem to be able to do the same sort of thing. Any help is appreciated

an apprentice shouldnot have to provide powertools, cordless or not. employer should provide these.

If they are giving you an allowance for tools, do you have a list of tools you are expected to buy from that?

I would think that £200 could cover the cost of a tool box/bag and a set of hand tools.
the most important tool in your bag is probably a good set of cutters.

I have been given most of the tools by a family friend all I need is drills I have spoke to them and they have said I should get a combi and an impact drill set now it is the decision on which brand.

all down to personal preference.i like hitachi, some prefer de walt. check around for deals.

i would definitely go for a combi +impact set. min .battery AH 4.0Ah.

If its rough ole new build site work then I would be a cheapo set for about 100 quid

its going to get used and abused and possibly nicked within a month

Not sure why, but this set was missing from the results posted by @telectrix.

There are better sets out there, but it's decent for the money and the 2x 5Ah batteries would currently set you back half the price of the kit on their own.
