Just some information regarding B22 LED lamps. I bought some of these in May and July this year and they have now all failed.
The lamps are two 108 LED 5W cylinder lamps and one 88 LED 4W cylinder in GLS shape envelope.
The lamps have all failed in a similar manner; half of the LEDS stop working and then after a time the other half then stop. For the RS ones the LEDs flicked on and off for a while before failing completely.
Two of them were bought from cheap Chinese sites and one was purchased from RS, I wanted to see how these would work since I am in general a fan of LED lamps and want them to get better so that I can safely sell them to customers. I have had no problems with GU10 LED lamps both SMD and high power and they have proved popular with customers and I want the same for B22/E27 etc.

I would be interested to know if anyone else has found similar problem with the B22 or E27 LED lamps, I certainly do not feel I can justify selling these at the moment with an advertised 20,000 hour life span only for them to fail within 800 hours.

I will now see how good RS return policy is and hope for the industry to get some decent OLED lamps out there soon!

gas lights, wood burning stoves ( heating the water as well ), bring back dolly tubs, then all we'd have to worry about were socket outlets
