Discuss Bonded external wiring to gas- should this be boxed in in the DIY Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net
Some sort of external capping/conduit mechanical protection would be an improvement, also visually.Strictly speaking it should be enclosed to protect it from solar damage.
The gas bond should be inside your house, quite why the electrician has ran the cable outside is debatable, perhaps there is some difficulty in locating the pipe inside your house
Gas regs are max 600mm from the gas meter
Yeah OK, but he could have taken the bond straight into the service box, same route as the internal gas pipe.
It can’t enter from the rear of the gas box as the hole would allow gas to pass into the wall cavity should a leak occur in the meter box. The bonding conductor must enter the box from outside.
Where possible I bring it through the wall just below the meter box then straight up into the box.
Ouch didn't know that I've never actually seen anyone use the clamps usually they sit in the tool bag^^^ Some guy died not putting his TCB'S on, don't know who he worked for.?
