Hi guys!
Hoping you can help me.
I'm making a custom 12v motorcycle brake light. I'm at the stage where I need an LED board/unit that does both tail and brake lights. I haven't finished machining the light housing yet as I need to know the board dimensions.
I'm a motorcycle mechanic by trade and have fitted many LED lights to customers bikes but this is my first time trying to making one from scratch (Lens included).Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to what I need, or even better a link to what I'm after.
I plan on making 10 of these rear lights to start with so where time and money can be saved would be great. When I first thought if making my own lights I planned on using the guts out of this unit - Motorcycle Vintage LED Tail Light Scrambler Stop Lights Rear Lamp Mini Bates Taillight For Honda Yamaha Cafe Racer CB XS GS| | - AliExpress - https://www.aliexpress.com/i/32906426817.html
But ideas changed and it wouldn't really be cost effective, where I'm sure I could just buy the boards from China for pence.
The board needs to be round, ideally no bigger than 35mm and when the brake is applied this of course needs to be seen. Red LED's are preferred. Wires over pins if possible, but I can of course solder.
I was thinking of having a center LED 3W (brake) and 3/5 outter LEDS 1W (Tail). But when searching online I've only found boards with one wattage and 2 wire, would need 3 wire. Or is there a way where I could have a single center LED board, that when the brake is applied the brightness would increase?
Really sorry if my questions seem simple, I have tried to do my research best I could.
Thanks for your time guys! Appreciate any input you can offer.
