Hi

Has any one used "complete picture" software for their qms? i am struggling to understand how to compile a qms and am reluctant to shell out on another course. i seems to offer a straight forward way to create a quality management system, but i would be keen to know what others think.

cheers

I did try complete picture software ,after five days software just got me more confused .So decided to cancel order. Possible suitable four bigger companies.???

Hello Oscra's Dad,

It's Paul from complete picture here. I would suggest you have a good look at the demonstration on our website this will give you an idea if it is for you. Setting up the online system does take a bit of time but this is more than just a quality management system. This manages all of your projects ongoing and makes the continued maintenance of the system very straightforward. The real benefit comes down the line when you have a number of installations under your belt and everything is managed in one place with a full audit trail and all project documentation available for your MCS audit.

Red tape madness ..................a snake oil process for a snake oil industry. How ever did companies operate and do their work 20 years ago without quality management systems.

I'm fully understand companies trying to obtain ISO standards that certains systems have to be in place to ensure that they achieve this, I have achieved this with my current company to achieve the design section of the ISO 9001 standard, and larger companies that have numerous departments such as contracts, procurment, design, human resources, admin etc etc need to have a fully integrated QMS, but for pity sake why do someone like a lone trader or a small contracting company need this in place. It's because someone somehwere as decide this is the way forward and created yet more non needed agencies to take the poor electrical contractor through this inane process, hence in 5 posts on here 2 are from companies who are helping this poor contractor through the process .madness utter madness.

So instead of supplying a service to a customer, he is giving employment to yet more of tony's loony legacy, let's hope that Mr Cameron hurries and starts slashing this red tape as he is puporting trying to do.

I must admit I do agree with some of what Malcolm has said. I wrote to Eric Pickles last year regarding the over complexity of accreditation schemes. The issue does not only affect electricians it is also applicable for SAP new build housing. The issue with MCS is that grant money is being made available and the government does not want to be on the hook if the money goes on poor installations that do not work. Can I suggest if others that feel the same they drop a line to Eric Pickles MP for communities and local government and we might get something done. The renewable heat initiative and green deal is going to be even more complicated.

I would prefer people bought our software for its project management capabilities rather than MCS compliance. In the end it does do both.

Regards
Paul

Thank you Paul for an honest reply, though it seems your like the Chrisitians voting for the arena ...............but it is refreshing that someone in your position recognises the banality of all this

I have to admit that i also had an ironic smile at your part about systems not working ................none of them will work to any type of efficiency in the UK due to the technology availalbe and the UK geographic position.

But this is the UK trying to stand up on the world stage saying look how green we are. we are good lads really ...............when we are not really as a large percentage of material comes from overseas, the technology is not advanced enough for the UK or to be honest anywhere unless you have acres and acres of space, but as it costs the governemnt nothing, as the FIT is subsidised by the rest of the energy paying UK public, it as though created jobs, which IMO is the only advantage.
