Hi, I was hoping someone could help me. I have recently brought a 3rd gen nest and installed it myself. I am currently using the usb stand however I want to mount the thermostat on the wall. I can't run cable from heatlink to thermostat, not possible. However in the kitchen near to a light switch may be an option. The light switch has power, neutral and earthing. I was wondering if i could spur power off here and use a transformer to convert the mains power to 12V and then off to the thermostat. I have looked at a few other forums and it has been suggested this is possible however the transformer was never specified. The power consumption of the nest is 0.15A at 12VDC.
I have found this transformner 240v to 12v LED Driver - 12 Watt - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/LALED12DRV12.html
can you guys help?
Thanks
Matt
