Hey guys

I'm working at a golf club that has a half way house with the feed coming from a sub main then metered as it enters the property. There recent electrical bills have been through the roof but no new equipment installed or changes etc. I'm wondering if you guys know of any type of current monitoring equipment I could use over a week or so to monitor there usage and compare it to the meter readings?

cheers TJ

You can hire testers called power quality analysers (or similar) for a reasonable amount (ÂŁ200/wk the last time i did a load study)
I wouldn't use one of those DIY home energy monitors as they won't give you any kind of guarantee and won't be accurately calibrated.

Go and check the IR values at this remote house including the sub-main cable, if all OK, then monitor with power analyser. They can be hired from many outlets, including the forum's sponsor, at '' test-meter,co.uk ''

Hi TJ -

As E54 has kindly informed above, we can hire a power quality analyser should you need one.

Chauvin Arnoux PEL103 Power Quality Analyser ÂŁ90+VAT Per Week

The unit is supplied with all of the current clamps and voltage leads that you'll need to monitor active, reactive and apparent power values. Download software is also included so that you can print off a report after analysis to show the golf club where any potential issues have been found.

Call us on 01132 48 99 66 if you need any further help.
