Hi I have recently purchased a Dewalt laser level from eBay. It was working fine for a few weeks and now it wont turn on, I have tried new batteries.
Is there anywhere you can get them looked at without ridiculous costs? I have googled it a few times but to be honest I dont wanna pay for a diagnostic. Any help would be appreciated

Any service centre will sort it.

Never paid stupid prices before for them to look at faulty gear, as i've always had it fixed at the same place.

You may be better of buying a new cheaper version if the repair price puts you off.

Can't beat that , the question is do you trust him? I put £300 of my hard earned cash in a Scottish mans bank, hoping he would send me a megger and guess what he did

I fix things to pass my time, one of my favourite hobbies, then most of the time I give them away to people I think are deserving, if I see a TV or a computer that's broken going cheap on a market stall or wherever, I will buy it, fix it then pass it on..... I would be more than happy to fix swainy's laser level, can even give them a scan of my Driving Licence and my personal phone number if they don't trust me...thanks alot p/u Back in the day I used to service and repair power tools and levels at a tool hire shop for a while....

Contact the seller and get your money back, ebay shouldn't be a drama

Original OP posted back in 2012, not sure where Sparky7lot bought his? I had a rather nasty experience with Bosch service, can't even talk about it a year later, :) , but I seem to remember a least Dewalt had some spares!

Ive had mine ages, it just decided to play up. I took it apart but couldn't see n e obvious problems.. Then I did the obvious and cleaned the battery contacts and hey presto its working.......for now

Nice to hear you got it going. Bad contacts and dry joints are probably the biggest issues with electronic stuff. And dried out electrolytic capacitors after that. Daz
