Hi everyone, I would like to use LED chips for DIY projects, to power them I would start from 12V drivers for LED strips.
For some chips it is necessary to convert the 12v to 3 or 6v. Could you recommend some products that are easily available online?
If not, someone can advise me where to find some schematics?

One last thing, I bought a 12v RGB LED chip, on the Ebay page it was indicated to power it directly from the 12v transformer, but after a few minutes of operation the blue light stopped working. What could be the problem? Faulty Chip? I used a heatsink obviously.

Thanks.

Did you put heatsink compound on the LED when mounting it on the heatsink?
A 12V transformer delivers AC. A COB led runs on DC. Did you actually use a 'transformer' (ie AC supply), or was it an LED driver or PSU?

All LEDs need DC just saying :)

Thanks,
No, I didn't use thermal paste, but I didn't run the LED at full voltage, I used a controller and it wasn't running hot .
I used an LED Power supply 12 VDC, 15 W max 🙂
