Yes, its for an existing installation with a very awkward route, just seemed as though it would be simpler, but looking at this a bit closer, the earth's out of the service head are only 10mm?

How will the open sided connection help with an awkward route?

A line tap will allow you to connect to an unbroken cable, and be more reliable than that dodgy looking block in your OP

I don't just take the word of any faceless stranger, I'm not daft. Plus saying that just makes it sound like you are doing something non-compliant and hiding it.

TLC sell line taps as far as I can remember

I thought I was quite clear in my first post, I am trying to find a multiple connection block that can clip onto an existing cable and have other cables attached to it. I do realise that because lots of us have time on our hands it's very easy to get a bit pedantic, but I am just a simple fellow and say what I mean without a hidden agenda.

Good option, but I have multiple connections needed onto the existing earth cable.

How much space around it? Could you use a line tap to connect a short length of 10mm (or 16mm, or whatever) to another multiple-connection earth block?

Thanks to all of you who gave positive suggestions, I have now found a neat solution, if it works I will post a picture of it complete.

I believe this one from RS allows connection to a continuous main conductor, IIRC the bar at the bottom slides out when the terminal is loosened.
