Hi,
My hot water hasn’t been working properly since beginning of Jan, only working when I press the boost mode for an hour. I had a new timer installed yesterday the economy 7 quartz however none of the dials seem to be moving on the timer and when I boost this the dial doesn’t work either. I still haven’t got any hot water so was just wondering if anyone had any advice

thanks

If there is power at the unit, possibly it has been wired up wrongly - for example, L in & L out connections mixed up.
There is also a link needed depending on whether you have one or two elements in the tank.

Whoever installed it should have checked it was operating before leaving - was this done by an electrican, or someone else?

An electrician installed it, it wasn’t till the evening though so he advised to use the boost for the evening and then by this morning I should have hot water from the preset times on the new timer
sounds silly but before he left he held up a device to the wired under the box and both the boost and time lite up so I just assumed that was checking it

If you've paid someone to install this, and it is not actually working, then perhaps they need to be called back to sort it out for free.
