DIYer here. Just purchased extractor to fit into chimney. Have fitted fused spur to downstairs ring main. Tried to test extractor by applying plug before fitting to fused socket. Worst thing I have ever done. Got a really bad shock while holding extractor. Have applied plug to extractor previously and never experienced anything like this. Can anybody assist me. Thanks in advance

CDA is the in-house brand of Howdens.
They may or may not be chinese, but tend to be generally far better made then those of Cokee Lewis (They do not bother with earthing any more), Which still is superior to those sold in screwfix where warranty claim (after one month when By low its covered by shop ) requires you to send it to factory in HONG-Kong for assessment...
CDA is not the in house brand of Howdens like Cooke & Lewis is for B&Q. I work for 2 independent kitchen companies and have been connecting up CDA appliances for years, they are totally independent

Accepted, I have done some checking and it seem to be a UK sub-company (with some UK manufacturing) of a polish company. That might explain why it is safer then Cokee

I used to like Beko before Dickson (Curries) bought and ruined it.
What it comes to is Lamona the original (Proper) Beko manufacturer (some Czech bloke, his son and few friends) that gave us things which take any misuse you throw at it or did it get ruined with Beko itself?

Beko was (and still is) a Turkish company, owned by parent company Arcelik. It has never been owned by any Czech bloke, with or without the help of friends and family, and has never been owned by Dixons Retail.

They also own Beko PLC - Beko's UK subsidiary.

Yet all the good bekos I have seen had Made in Czech republic, All the rubish ones I have seen are made in Turkey, I didnt do the research. I may as well shut-up about corporate things...

That's not related to the content of your previous post.

I haven't commented about where they manufacture products for various markets, nor the fact that white goods are often produced to slightly different specifications for large retail groups, but simply pointed out that Beko's owners were not whom you had stated.

I'm laughing now, but this thread frightened the wits out of me this morning.

Edit: Laughing stopped again as I noticed it's valentines day tomorrow. Dog house for me.
Wife didn't mind me skipping Valentine's after the weekend. Final straw this morning....Isolation valve forced off uninsulated water pipe in utility following low temperatures (Pennines). Flooded utility, blew the electrics. I'm just waiting for the next problem....

Loz2754 remove your like it gives him a point to the Arms rating, I don't know where he gets this rubbish from.

Ziodej please do take your own advice, but apply it to everything not just corporate things.
