I did my C&G qualifications a good few years back don't do much of anything electrical for my job so apologies if I am a rusty.

I have been asked to take a look at a few years old periodic report for a church in my village, to see if there is anything simple on it that I could remedy for them. One of the faults on the report (down as a code 2) is to replace the exposed MET block with an enclosed one. Whats the thinking behind enclosing the MET block?

Maybe it's open to the public. Not a C2 though, unless one of the congregation has removed a conductor.

I can’t see any reason to alter the MET connection block. To be honest I would prefer to have it open for inspection.

Some of the MET’s I’ve installed have been 5m or more in length with dozens of connections. How do you enclose that?

It sounds to me like whoever did the EICR was creating work.

Thanks guys. Its not open to the public, the whole system is in a locked cupboard. I couldn't think of a reason so you've confirmed what I thought.

Nice to see they have been quick on the remedial work then :O
