My first day back yesterday after furlough.

Was sent to check an unsafe situation, a floorbox whose lid was totally smashed and the face plates all buckled, but not broken or exposed.

The three compartment floorbox is set in the concrete floor and was made by Wandsworth, who no longer make them.

The dimensions are 300mm x 215mm by 60mm deep.

Looking round the many available seem to be much deeper.

I'm still looking but is anyone aware of a slimline floorbox of roughly these dimensions?

Thanks

Wandsworth are still in existence (their factory is only about 25 mins from where I live)

I know, I called them. They no longer make or support floor boxes though. :(

Find a local small engineering/sheet metal engineering workshop to make what you need.
Are they standard sockets fitted to these?

Maybe a sheet metal engineer could fashion something to suit the size

or try eBay? You never know
Cheers, thought about making something.

On this one though the lid and frame are smashed, only the tray remains intact.

Fabricated solutions are neat but if not entirely functional, neat and safe it bites you in the --- in the end. So we're moving away from fabbed solutions.

It's a fine line between fabbed and bodged.

If you can remove an unsmashed one and take it to a sheet metal engineer they'll be able to make an exact copy.

I have had to get a few custom socket panels made over the years to fit all manner of custom boxes used in theatres and as long as they get the right information to start with the engineers I use will produce something as good as or better than the original.
