Ok lads ive just loaded up the van with my last 20 zn shine 195w panels rails and inverta! yes heavy work ! yes its a job i priced months ago so whent in tight but my word is my bond so it will be installed TOMOZ) now when all this started KITS started to fly off the shelves i rang my banking advisor who every yr comes around trying to flog me insurance/vans/overdraft fercilities.Every yr i say im fine but i get the odd charge for banking cheques at my branch of natwest instead of going 15miles to my rbs main bank(but i pay it,clients cheque bounces (for woteva reason) i get notified a week later by letter and charged! when for having a personal account with them i get charged for (the gold account?) so when i ring them up and ask can i have an increase in overdraft (for 2 months) to get the kit i need (MONEY back plus PROFIT) within 2 months!OH OK i will need latest accounts(even though u have my last 15yrs accounts) profit loss statement!order book!!!!! OH COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so what you do you get the credit cards out(yes those things that helped cause this credit crisis this country is in now (well partly that and bankers BONUS) ?DONT WE THE WORKING MAN AND WOMEN OWN THEM BANKS????? anyway i digress so max cards out for orders for me to be able to fit jobs to end of november!(not that ive recieved them yet?) Now ive run my family business for 25yrs earning a WAGE with my son trained up and doing a great job with me! this all goes back a long way! no apprenticeships ! not enough big companies to nercher the youngsters of this country! NVQ all to do with health and safety po[itical correctness! colleges full of youngsters doing 2 days A WEEK hoping to find a company take them on i had NO HOPE FOR THEM! then i decided to GO FOR IT become MCS approved THE GREEN FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!! £3500 later courses done all rushed (to many in clases) new office in garden(very posh)BIG FILEING cabinet!!! easy mcs folder !! niceic fee now to pay twice a yr!!REAL insurance fee?? never miss sold or fiddled a client in my 25yrs so Y do i need this?? anyway just do it!! ok get one job done (at cost) - free labour for my inspection job ! big day 4hrs!!!!!!!! in office!!!!!! 20 mins site !!! 4 non conforms ie sticker for inverta on board below inverta all of 3 inches????????ok sorted that pics sent !!! UR IN ))))))) RESULT!!!!!! big sign outside my first job PHONE DONT STOP )))))))) get accounts with 3 companies UP insurance!!!!!!! were AWAY!!!!!!!! loads of work !!! paid partly up front!!! till APRILLLLLLLLLLLLLL that do MEEEEEEEEEEEE ! take my sons mate on ROOFER 2 man team fitting jobs LEARNING who is best supplier!!!! found best supplier when a KIT is a KIT (thanks katie pv kits direct wow i might be able to retire ONE day and pass company to my son and he have a FUTURE!!!!!!!! WIN WIN!!!!!!!!!! BANG FITS reduced!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 weeks????????????????? wot the flip is going on!!! OH I NO THERE ISNT ANY MONEY LEFT!!! Y !!!!!! I NO ITS ITS THE BANKERS WE BAILED WHO CAUSED THIS BLACK HOLE WHO NOW WONT LET ME NOW HAVE MY MONEY BACK TO BUY KIT TO KEEP ME COMPANY AFLOAT FOR XMAS!! AND NOT FORGETTING THIS AND ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT WE HAVE HAD CHANGING THE GOAL POST WITH LITTLE OR NO NOTICE!!! so from me like most on this forum WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO NEXT TO SURVIVE??????? ps ok its been an exspensive lesson but what i will say LADS this forum is where ive learnt about PV the RIGHT way based on my building/electrical knowledge gained over 25ys (not the 3 day exspensive waist of time overcrowded coures) but you got a bit of paper so you can CRACK on! time we changed this country before its toooooooooo late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok im off to church:32::32:

Nice rant, no wonder the scots want away, i dont blame them and i would also build up Hadrians wall to totaly get away from England, crap goverment, crap country with no ecomonmy, i going to open a McD's thats the only industry in this country, fast food, look around thats all we have, retail parks full of fast food, food, food, food, everywere. Then the seed of a growing industry starts to grow, they chop it down like its a weed.

got to agree with you on courses. mine was rubbish!! I was one of the first, went on a course provided by a well known national training provider. We were the first. the lecturer knew nothing, in fact I learnt more off one of the guys on the course!! most of what I have learnt has been the hard way and from others and the few books I could get my hands on 18 months ago.
The lecturer actually told us the answers for the exam. I asked him how he arrived at those answers and he didn't know. he suggested we should just be interested in passing the course, I suggested I was interested in knowing what I was doing!!!
I thought about reporting them to city and guilds and asking for my money back, but i needed the cert and reckoned that may be taken away so kept quiet, but have always wished I had just reported them, it was a disgrace, oh, and setting up cost me a good 10 grand!!

wow £10,000 i feel for u! u can get a course for anything these days but R U REALY READY TO GO OUT AND DO THE JOB? even with 25yrs electrical WE STILL WERNT READY but i no when to ask ! HOW MANY DONT? TRUTH IS AS IN ANYTHING U CANT BEAT hands on knowledge !! ie as in a good old apprenticeship!!ok im bit old in thinking that but everything i learned wasnt from books! it was from SENIOR members of a well established electrical contractors ( over 5 yrs ) pv 3 day course NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!! if u just done a part p then staright on to PV 3 day ITS A RECIPE FOR DANGER!!!!!! but point is WHO FAULT IS IT? not the bloke trying to EARN a living! the bloody GOVERNMENT!! anyway im ment to be in church (bless u my boy)

Your right there, we've done over 40 installs now, most of them subbing and learnt a hell of a lot, and very much still learning.
that 10 grand was the PV course, a course for my MCS (no MCS made easy in those days!Add 6 months of work to that as well to get my MCS). Then there was putting a system on the roof of the guy that works for me cos we lived in rented (one of the aims was to save for a deposit). the membership of the numerous parasitic bodies you have to belong to, the specialist tools (it's got solar written on it, that'll be 3x the normal price please sir), reckon 10 grand minimum (I stopped counting after a while). Then, nothing for 6 months. I retweeked the business, did some marketing and really worked at things and finally in August of this year (over a year after starting the process) we started getting some installs, just in time for the Government to kill the industry!!!
A year and a halfs work and a load of money down the pan. Bitter, bet your --- I am!!!
you know what they say. If you want to make money from a gold rush don't go looking for gold because you probably won't find any, sell picks and shovels to the mugs doing the digging!!
