Hi
Was wandering if someone could help, I'm a first year level 2 student and we have just started calculations and I'm stuck on a couple:
1. Calculate the thickness of an aluminium busbar 60mm by 12m long which has a resistance of .000946 ohms (given that aluminum has a resistivity of 2.84 x 10-8)?
Do I work out the area in mm2 first then the thinckness? If so how do i then work out the thickness?
2. Calculate the diameter of an aluminium busbar which is 24 m long and whose resistance is .000139 ohms (given that aluminum has a resistivity of 2.84 x 10-8)?
Again do i work out the area first (which i have worked out to be 4903.6mm2, think this is right?) then calculate the diameter? If so how do you calculate the diameter from the area?
Help would be appreciated
Steve
