Hi I have a Loncin 5.8 kva generator that gives me power for a few hours then stops. Nothing trips on the generator or my burger van I just lose power. The output on the generator is 32 amp. I have a 16 amp lead and a 16 amp input socket. Could this be the reason for the loss of power?

If it always works to start with, and there is no flickering on and off that would suggest a loose connection, and then fails after a certain length of time, I would suspect that something in the generator (e.g. the AVR or excitation capacitor) is failing as it heats up. You will need to check the output directly from the generator itself to prove this. Repair would probably involve test equipment and isn't really a DIY job.

Hi,how long after running, does it function again? Do any of the other outlets, including 110V,fail similarly? ...and can i have onions on that...

I doubt your undersized lead is the problem, it might be a built-in safety that auto-resets after a while. As already suggested to fault find this would require a range of test equipment so it's not something we could walk a DIY'er through I'm afraid.
