Questions will come in general laid back format if you answer tooo confidently expect to be probed further. I think they sometimes try to test your max Ze.

lol, only joking to a point they need to know if your Zs meets requirements.

Q.How do you do an end to end test? A.well so and so
Q.can you show me? A. ok
Q. what will you expect to find? A. L & N = Cpc 1.67 x >
Q. what are your readings? A. blah blah

Re: Step by step for NICEIC Assessment,

Some examples of questions will be things like:

(When measuring a Ze or Zdb) What earthing system is this? and what is the maximum Ze reading you can to obtain?
(When testing an RCD) What is the maximum disconnection times on x1 and x5 rated tripping currents?
(When carrying out a pfc and psc test) What does that information mean regarding your chosen MCB's?

You will likely be asked to illustrate your safe isolation procedure also.

anyone know how the part p equivelent works in scotland and what it intails looked for info but cant find a difinitive answer

in regards to getting sites sorted for registration wit NIC on the domestic installer program, can anyone lead me in the right direction in terms of notifying to building control first so that i can do the work and wait for NIC to take up to a month to come and visit work? Cheers

be grateful if any of the more experienced members could steer us in the right direction? Doing installations and testing is fine... but the bits surrounding work is a bit more tricky. Muchos appreciated. Volers

the bits surrounding work is a bit more tricky ????????????????????

Yes the installation and testing processes are not an issue otherwise i wouldnt be applying to be a domestic installer. However the legal aspects of getting any electrical installation works signed off by building control when you are awaiting assessment is confusing as it costs over 200 pounds for notification to building control. Hence the issue.
