Guys I’m struggling to find one item which use electric power but it’s not considered an appliance. Is there anyone who can give me a such example?

An electrical appliance is defined within BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) as:
‘An item of current-using equipment, other than a luminaire (light fitting) or an independent motor’

It would depend on what is considered to be an appliance.
A dishwasher maybe considered to be an appliance, An immersion heater may not be.

No, I was thinking today for an explanation or better say, an example to a problem I have to explain to somebody who doesn’t know much about electrics, and I was thinking about using appliances as example and non appliances and then I realized that crossed my mind so far it is categorized as appliance. So I’m thinking that what it is a non appliance then? Lol, I probably confused everybody now

Unfortunately an immersion heater it is for sure categorized as an appliance. I really believe this is an extremely challenging question if not even impossible. Hmmm…

An appliance is something 'other than a luminaire. So therefore a 'not apppliance' is............

An immersion heater isn't an appliance, it is a heating element which may be used as part of an appliance.
As already mentioned luminaires and lamps are not appliances.
Protective devices such as RCBO's and AFDDs use power but are not appliances.

Bulb/lamps… well I was thinking about that at some point. But still arguably, and I’m sure the opinions are split about that. It’s like an oven, you have the machine but without the heating element it’s just a metal carcass. Same with a kettle, right? I don’t know
… I would like some which without doubts it’s considered a non appliance. Would be a grass cutting considered an appliance?

Where would we categorise a grid connected solar array? it is not a current using device for most of the time

Your ‘Service Providers Meter’ uses electrical energy to operate, but is NOT regarded as an Electrical appliance….!!!
Now a question for you…!!!!!

Is that when the spark doesn’t clean up after themself?
Ask a layman and generally they would consider an “appliance” as large kitchen based equipment… usually known as “white goods”
Therefore anything else… (black goods) is not an appliance. TVs, computers, lamps, etc.
(can we still say white and black goods, or is that frowned upon nowadays?)
