Hi,

I recently bought some LED ceiling lights and installed it. It is operated by a 3-way switch, one of which is a dimmer switch( 6674-P0W - https://www.leviton.com/en/products/6674-p0w). The lights kept flickering when I turned them on. When the slider is in the low range, the lights would flicker or not turn on. When I push the slider from the low range into the high range, the lights would sometimes stabilize (slider at ~70% but doesn't work at 100%).

Either way the lights flicker when I turn the switch on. The only was to stop the flickering was to drop the slower low then slowly raise it to about 70-80%. This works sometimes. I tried adjusting the minimum load on the dimmer switch but it did not help.

Thinking the dimmer is incompatible, I went ahead and bought a new one( SUL06P-W-KB-L | Eaton slide dimmer | Eaton - https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/skuPage.SUL06P-W-KB-L.html). This new dimmer also did not work. In fact the light never stabilizes regardless of how I move the slider or play with the minimum load.

The LED lights are not the typical E26 LED lightbulbs and I have trouble figuring out what they are. I could not find further information on what they are, except for a serial number 40mm-2b4c-5730 (pictures below). A quick googling seems to suggest that 5730 are type of LEDs. There's 3 lights with 8 LEDs inside each (picture attached). I did some reading and was wondering if its because I need an LED driver. To be honest I'm not sure what the LED driver does. There also seems to be many of them.

I know the lights work because I tried wiring them without the 3-way dimmer switch. I know my dimmer switches are good because the first one worked with an incandescent light while the second one is brand new.

What do I need to do to fix the flickering? Is it an LED driver? If so which one?

Thank you in advance.

TL;DR
Need help with flickering LED used with dimmer. Tried adjusting minimum load on dimmer and changing dimmers but didn't work.
First you need to be sure that your LEDs are dimmable, from the specifications. If you do not have this info, then it is hard to find a compatible dimmer switch.
That was what I did when installing LED recessed lights in my kitchen, and LEDs for my chandelier. The two dimmer switches I bought are same brand & model, they work great.
I also installed one dimmer switch for my entrance LED light which is way too bright,. The dimmer does not work. Turned out that my entrance LED light is non-dimmable !!!

Thank you for the reply. I managed to find the LED driver on my light. It says dimmable LED driver. So my lights are definitely dimmable. I guess the problem would be finding the right dimmer switch.
