Its in the specs.

1st pic. Feed for Hand dryer

2nd pic. Feed for alarm

3rd pic looks like one of my posts when i did my design project as these are not on the original drawings neither are the sockets or CU.
Towel rail feed by bathroom
Heating feed by CU
hi guys I'm stuck with this assignment as well do u mind give me a help

Hi John,

I'm currently doing the same project.

The hotel rooms are like premier inns rooms. sockets either side of beds, 2 double socket on table for tv, kettle etc & socket by the sofa, heater fcu by the door & towel rail fcu outside of the bathroom.
CU in each room by the door.

when i get back home i'll convert my visio file to pdf & pm you so you can take a look.

maybe we can buddy up on this & throw ideas about?

Michael
Can you send to me the drowning please

Any chance of a few more words? A quick hello maybe, and perhaps tell us how far you have got and which bits you are stuck on?

hi, im currently trying to squeeze my level 3 hotel design in before christmas due to lack of time with covid, anyone have any pdfs of previous work that i can follow as a guideline? much appreciated

What is it that you're struggling with specifically? I don't think anyone would possibly give you a completed hotel assignment (that not what you're asking for I know but in putting it out there).

Show us where you're up to, what you're struggling with and we'll try and guide in the right direction.

I’m stuck on questions 10... seems quite straight but struggling none the less. Anyone able to help?
Think about it logically;

Isolation for maintenance; well that just screams plant room (hazarding a guess at the location of this assignment - Swimming pool?)

Switching for mechanical maintenance; again this screams to bear near any machinery or plant

Functional switching; every room/area within the complex to some degree

This is great. I need a greater understanding of functional switching will need to read up on that. What’s an example for further requirements?

2a - Find some lights, print off manufacturers data on said lights

2b - Draw on the positions of the lights

2c - Draw on sockets and FCUs

2d - Draw on each circuit on such a way that a fault with 1 circuit will not affect another

2e - devise a numbering method to ID circuits in relation to the circuit number, room number and/or phase

2f - Draw on any additional distribution boards of you deem th necessary

2g - Draw on lighting circuits in relation to the pool and show switching positions

2h - devise a numbering method to ID circuits in relation to the circuit number, location and/or phase

2i - Annotate drawings with symbols compliant with BS EN 60617.
im the same john stuck on question 2 a 2b right to 2i

I’m suck with the question attached 615 2365 electrical design project ? question 5 2 hours still can’t work out the answer
Easy method, use the adiabatic equation to find out the size

S = ✓ I^2 * t / k

I = the current required to operate the device
t = disconnection time required for the device
k = factor given for the cable selected - Typically 115

So for argument's sake, let's say we have a fault current of 320 (taken from your trip curves) a time of 0.1 (taken from your device operating times) and a K factor of 115 (taken from the tables following the trip times)

S = ✓ I^2 * t / k
S = ✓ 320^2 * 0.1 / 115
S = ✓ 102,400 * 0.1 / 115
S = ✓ 10,240 / 115
S = 101.19 / 115
S = 10.05

As there is no conductor with a CSA of 10.5, you select the next size up, in this case 16mm^2

The above is purely and illustration and values may not be accurate but it serves to show how to lay out the equation so that you can understand what is going on at each step.

Hope this helps

Thanks for this it’s just different this level 3 as I’m dyslexic not with reading and writing but with maths and new things of of my comfort zone

What you struggling on? Show us what you have and we'll offer some guidance.
Hi,

I don't currently have any pictures but I've drawn out on the hotel rooms how each would be wired for what the spec asks for. After reading through and breaking down the task sheet and looking around the forum I am beginning to understand this more taking it a bit at at time. I have less than 2 weeks so I was in a bit of a panic.

This is a question I do not understand

"Select, with the aid of manufacturers’ data, a suitable range of circuit protective devices for this
contract. Your selection should be based on the following
 Prospective short circuit currents
 Requirements for additional protection and special locations"

Ok, easy;
Select a suitable range of OCPDs generically (B6, C32 60898/61009s) them download the datasheets from a manufacturer of your choosing and add them to the assignment.

You should be able to calculate PFCs based on Uo and calculated Zs from estimated cable run sizes (assume you have Ze?)

As for special locations, here's a RCD Omission matrix from a different project to help (attached)

Heyo lads, I’ve currently finished my Level 3 course and only have this Hotel Design project to hand in to complete it. I have 3 weeks to hand it in before I fail.

Due to COVID, job losses, family losses, I’ve only just managed to pick myself up and get round to it. Having finished my course a couple of months ago, I’m kind of stuck on a lot of questions and unsure where to go from here.

Mainly the drawings, unsure of the correct symbols to use, colours to use and where to place them.

If anyone could give some guidance on this project an help with a few questions it would he much appreciated, I already see some of the posts in the past can help so i’ll also use them.

Feel free to pm me or reply :)

thank you

Throw th up here and we'll see what we can help with. A fair few questions have been asked in recent months about the hotel project so you might find your answer with a bit of scrolling and searching

Hi guys, new to the forum. Can some one tell me how I can get access to the trainee forum? Everytime I click on the link Apply to Gain Access to Trainee-Only Forum, it stays on the same page.

I'm probably just being a bit thick!

I'm with you all the way, apart from 101.19/115 equaling 10.05. I feel awful for pointing that out.

Sorry

Hi all,

Just started doing the 2365-305 assignment myself. As with the above advice given by the experienced/expert members, I'll try and ask one focused question at a time
Is there a website that we can see all of the BS EN 60617 symbols needed for the assignment?

Thanks

Hi on question 1 did you find an example on the internet to use
Likely yes, it's not a hard one to grasp; Find a manufacturer (Fusebox, Wylex, BG), Download/Print the datasheets and use them in your project. Not sure why this is hard for some (not a dig at OP, purely an observation as it's not that first time this has come up)

I did this in 2018 it was very much like being told to outfit a Travelodge, if you've ever been in one you'd recognise the layout. It's just they've removed all the socket outlets, fused spurs, electric radiators, heated towel rails and lighting on the plans and expect you to do a competent job filling in the blanks.

Hi all, doing my design assignment. Ive done questions 1,2,3 and filled out table 1 as best i could. When it comes to the distribution circuit, im a bit lost. I know it needs a 5s disconnection time but apart from that is there another calculation i should be doing? Also what type breaker should be feeding it? Thx for any help

Are you on Q4? What distribution circuit?

what is question 4? can't answer it without knowing the details, i honestly have no idea how anyone found this part of the course hard. the science exams and equations were by far and away the hardest parts of the course, the rest was like an English comprehension exercise.

I’ll have to post it into the group when I’m home, this was given to me about 5 months ago and I’ve left it too late and forgotten about it any help in the right direction from anyone would be appreciated.

God I hate the grey-out on this forum, I use browsers with built in ad-blockers and I won't be changing this in the foreseeable future. No other forums I'm on do this --------, so I won't be making any exceptions for this place! You've got a strip of adverts down the right hand side of the screen and that should be enough to keep you ticking over, now I realise why I stopped coming to this forum!

I tend to agree with you, there.
......and it's like a monkey puzzle trying to locate different forums and threads.
I feel it's too complicated with too much info showing for each forum introduction...as well as the adverts all over. It just needs basic lists, as it used to be.
