Hi there,

Just came here to say Hi and say a little bit about me.

I'm new to the forum, please don't kick me out if I post something in the wrong place, ill do my best I don't.

Im in my late 30's and looking to qualify as an electrician. I think my best route is an apprenticeship, but any advice is welcome.

Welcome. It's a good place to hang out.

Main advice is please don't be mis-sold a short 6 week domestic electrician / "Part P" course on the promise of an easy way into the industry. It will get you absolutely nowhere these days.
There are people on the same journey as you at various stages who I'm sure will give advice.

(You also don't have to worry about posting in the wrong place!)

Welcome, there's no such thing as daft questions, only daft answers!
Be prepared for some friendly banter, I'll start by saying "intraduce" sounds a rather street way of saying "introduce" 😝

You will get plenty of constructive advice from the experienced and long serving members on this forum, so good choice mate 👍

Welcome!

Depending on your existing qualifications and employment status you might be able to get help with funding a college placement. Being older too you might find it easier getting employed and be able to get a company to fund you. Bigger companies get funding for certain courses so are happy to put you through training.

What part of the industry are you looking to getting into? Construction, maintenance, factory work etc.
