Hi, am having a major house extension on a tight budget and have taken a punt that £2,000 spent at the training centre for 20 days worth of city & guilds in May this year (...a little knowledge is a dangerous thing?).... could be better value than £7k - £8k for an electrician I have found a builder who will indulge me

Under no illusion about my level of competency, either now, or post training; this is mainly enhanced DIY but I am a little curious as to how far I could go with this. No harm in enhancing your skills base in ever changing world. I am spending an hour a day with On Site Guide and BS7671 anyway - so there's commitment for you! ;-)

So all new to me - best thing I have heard so far - DIY electricians are like DIY brain surgeons - no survivors. Oh dear!

Welcome to the forum mate.
Good luck with the house extension. What could possibly go wrong. After all, its just red-to-red & black-to-black..
