Hole Saw Set recommendations

I’m looking to buy a hole saw set for drilling into wood, metal and plastic. Any recommendations please?

What size are we talking? If 20,25 32 etc them armeg. If bigger it doesn't really matter because they all will go blunt drilling spots out.

Anyone still use Starrett hole cutters ?

i have a starrett set 16, 20, 25 and 32mm my dad gave to me 20 years ago and they still work fine , I also have a set of Bosch which are quite good.

I always go for starrett.
Have tried others in the past and they don't last as long.
Most of mine are 16mm 20mm and 25mm.
I have a few others but hardly get used

We seem to eat through Olympic and Morse holesaws. They're nearly regarded as disposable.

Got Armeg for 20 25 32, stepdrill for 5-40mm and Bosch progresser quick change for everything else and Bosch spade bits for joists

I hate they Bosch doesn't have a version of the Starrett Oops Arbour, missing a trick imo.

Bought one of those oops arbors and haven't needed to enlarge a single hole since.

I'm ok with the step drill bit just know I'll get that 1 occasion that needs a downlight holes made bigger ? sods law ain't it

I can’t justify the price of the Armeg ones unfortunately. Dart any good? Or the DeWalt ones I posted? Starrett seem to have mixed reviews.

Used Metabo holesaws for years. Very good quality, but never really hear of others using them.

Just wrap insulation tape around the smaller hole saw and place it inside the bigger hole saw.

It'll give you a step between the two sizes.

I've had to do this, when we were upgrading machines and they needed a bigger gland

Beware the sets with peculiar plumbing sizes!! Not even a 20 or 25 in that set. I use this set...

There's always a way of getting around any problem; I just thought it was ironic buying one of those arbors and since then not needing to enlarge a hole.

The Bosch quick change ones are quite nice (if expensive) - Avoids the hassle trying to get any other brand off the damn arbor after the plaster has got into all the joints....

for downlights it's only plasterboard. i use a set of shallow bits. cost a tenner for arbour and 6 cutters up to 80mm with all the popular downlight sizes .similar to this, but mine are red.
