Discuss Interview preparation in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

One of the most important things I have learned, through interviewing.

Don't try an bull s!!!. I could see through it every time an when I noticed it, I would tie them up with questions they clearly did not know.

Was far better for them to simply state they didn't know, nobody knows everything, but making the point that you're interested in learning new things is always a huge positive.

Might be random but a friend went for a job interview the other week in a factory as a maintenance tech or something along those lines & one of the first things they asked was what do you think of our company website, how would you improve it, what bits didnt you like etc.

Have some words practised for|:

1. Why you became/like being a sparks?
2. What does the company do/make?
3. Who are its major clients?
4. How flexible are your working hours?
5. Are you prepared to travel/be away for the night(s).
6. What is the next qualification you are/you will studying/study for?
7. What would your last boss say about you?

Yes , a little research goes a long way and will impress them.
Lots of good advice here. Try and be yourself. They will have done this before and know what they are looking for.

Know your weaknesses as well as your strengths as this question sometimes catches people out, and always have a question or two ready for when they say 'is there anything you want to ask us'.

And good luck!
