Is it allowable for a shop to run off two meters which is two seperate supplies

The shop in question was two seperate units which has been converted into one unit years ago. The business uses both the meters for the electicity supply is this allowable or are they supose to run on one meter only? This would release a meter and supply which would be beneficial for the flat above which at present has no sole supply.

It’s not an uncommon situation, but as far as the regs are concerned I don’t know. Unless it’s 2 phases and feeds in to the shop are getting mixed together in the same area. One source of supply is best but….. needs must!

Could be very useful for the flat so long as a single feed is up to supplying the shop. But contact the supply company.
