TL;DR
Just moved into a rented flat. Was not given ECIR by landlord. Are these wall sockets safe above hob? LL says last tenants never had a problem with it. Is ECIR compulsory?
EICR is compulsory for any rental domestic property in the uk.
further to that, the landlord is required to fix any dangerous problems (C1 or C2) within a reasonable time, normally 28 days.
