Good Evening All, By way of introduction, I am Neil and I am currently 21 years into my 22 years military service and my future employment is going to be in the electrical field. I am researching training providers who offer the best training, the most comprehensive training available and who are not rip off merchants. I would like to do the NVQ2/3 in a single go (approximately 16 weeks). I have a sponsor in place and he is willing to give me some "tool time" as my time will be free. I will then gather my portfolio over time and eventually do AM2 on route to JIB and Gold Card (this will take years). I will have approximately 6 months of free time to give said sponsor before I then have to find a job i.e. electricians mate or a special arrangement with a company which pays a fair wage for my limited experience. I am not naive to think I will be a 100% tip top electrician in 2/3 years time, everyday is a school day, even for the old and bold.
MY QUESTION REALLY IS WHO IS THE BEST TRAINING PROVIDER WITH THE BEST TRAINING FOR THE MONEY I AM GOING TO PAY (POTENTIALLY 7K NO LOANS)? I have looked at TRADESKILLS4U (Crawley) and Electrical Courses uk (Cambridge) and both seem fair offers. Please be aware I will NOT be doing these courses holding down a job but be practicing under supervision on site. This is such a massive move for me and your input is and will be hugely appreciated.
I am a time served joiner (1993) and I have experience in property development (a few houses and extensions). So, I beleive this is not a blind move but a full circle manouvre that I missed when I was 16 years of age.
If you have any advice for me, I am all ears.
Kind Regards
Neil
