Alright folks,

Does anyone have any experience installing MBS controlled heating systems? I am currently working with this system and we have been given a Mains Filter with ferrite cores, to reduce unwanted noise so the heating signals can work freely. The heating circuits are fed from a three phase board, which itself is fed from a large chamber about 25 metres away in a 35mm SWA on a tray with other submain supplies. My (probably silly) question is does it matter if the filter is fitted at the chamber end or does it need to be directly close to the disboard? The destructions say that ideally the filter should be connected after the meter, then through an isolator, and then into the board, just gives no mention of any distances. The manufacturer couldn't advise as they don't get involved in the install.

The filter is DIN rail mountable (about the same size as a 4 pole main switch), and it means removing the incoming submain and making it off into a new box etc, which I am happy to do. But it could be a lot easier if it could be mounted in the chamber end providing it would still be effective over a 25 meter run

Ta very much and hope there's enough info, I haven't come across this situation before, but the tin hat is on just in case!
