Hi,

We have our MCS inspection looming, and i am trying to organise access to all the documents which NICEIC require we have access to.

I have found everything we need apart from the following;

EN ISO 14713:1999 Protection against corrosion of iron and steel structures – zinc and aluminium coatings – Guidelines.

EN 10088-1:2005 Stainless steels. List of stainless steels.

EN12975-2:2006 Thermal solar systems and components – solar collectors – part 2 Test Methods.

G59/1 1991 ‘Recommendations for the Connection of Embedded Generating Plant to the Public Electricity Suppliers’ Distribution Systems’.

Generators (up to 16 A per phase) in parallel with Public Low-voltage Distribution Networks’.

I have found places where i can buy these items, however i am a bit loathed to fork out so much money for them.

Can anybody help me get access to any of these documents?

Many thanks in advance.

Matt

Are you doing Thermal? if not you don't need the Thermal document. The EN ISO document and stainless steel document, ask at your local library if they can get them. If they can write this into your QSM. You need to have access to them not own them. The G59 I think you will have to buy. It is something you will need to refer to form time to time.

No just PV.

So if the local library "could" get them, is that sufficient?

Many thanks

Worked for me in June and still have't got em! NICEIC asks for access to, a library is access to. Our NICEIC assessor was every impressed! I have an email from my local Library stating that I can have access if I give them 24hr notice. I think it is a national thing as it's online but only in a Library. Like I say it must be documented as this is your method of access for these documents.

Any library should be able to get the BS docs via inter-library loan, but will need a few days notice to get it organised.

Have NICEIC changed their position on this recently? I thought that, unlike most other certification bodies, they actually required you to own a copy.

We didn't have any of these and sailed through the NIC accreditation without any problems in October. One of the things they were keen to have on our visit was a link in the quality manual to building regs for regular updates (even though I had all the current paper files) and copies of all the testing and survey paperwork that could be accessed if for any reason power was down and you couldn't access electronic files. They spent about 15 mins looking at our install and 3 hours on the paperwork.

Good luck Matt - it's not as bad as you think!
