on the megger 1553 where is the ramp test selection. i think its the single triangle at top of selection.

how do we ramp test an rcd, isit at terminals for best results.

ps; never got instructions when bought. thanks

it is the triangle. just select the triangle. select the mA rating of the rcd under test.connect probes or use socket lead, press the test button. think it gives 5mA increments till it trips, then you read out the trip current. try it at home, preferably when eastenders is on.

All recorded tests, should be via the disconnected load side RCD terminals... Your testing the devise not the circuit!! Personally i would conduct a ramp test at the terminals too, or at least test once at the disconnected device and once, down line on individual circuits if your fault finding.

Did you not get the disc with your Megger?

you can download the manual free from megger website.
