Good points:
Loop test Hi & low Current only 0.02 difference
RCD tests very fast

Bad point : no earth spike kit with meter

Firmware 3.0

Could be the best Megger so far!

make your own spike kit. it's only 3 wires. :). how hard can it be?

Thinking about buying one of these 1741's on Monday. First multifunction tester for me, but used older meggers in college so am sticking with the brand. Would you say its worth the extra price for the 1741 over the 1731 / 1721

So it's a separate model, but just has two extra non-life changing functions?
Loop test confidence meter,hey?

I'm going to wait for the model that has,a continuity hopefulness scale, and IR expectancy indicator :)

The 1700 series is much much quicker on RCD tests than the 1500s.
My only little gripe is I got used to the negative values with the continuity setting on my old 1552, whereas with the 1700s it just shows the less than symbol for negative values, which means more zeroing of the leads all the time.
