Just bought a house and the previous owner left a present for Eng 54. Sorry it's not wrapped :(

Actually i could make use of that twigg, i can cut it in half and use as test spikes for my Earth tester...

I wouldn't expect much of your earthing system if that's what's been used mind, get it PME'd is my best advise!! lol!!

There's no TNCS in the area and getting a TNS isn't straight forward, but we'll see :)
 
Next you'll be showing a picture of a drill with a 3/8ths chuck.... Used to know a bloke that went mental when he saw one, would start shouting out loud "3 eighths chuck? 3 eighths? You need 1/2 inch chuck mate"
 
You do not want to use any of that copper coated steel rubbish you need a proper star shaped copper earth rod like this:

I have my BS951 clamp ready fitted and a high quality earth rod box, I am sure that 200 ohms is only a guide and the 485 ohms I got on installation will be fine!
I put it close to the wall so that it is not exposed to the weather.
What more could one do?
I am sure E54 will be pleased!
