Hi all I am a new member on here and just looking for some advice. I am a full scope member with napit after deciding to go alone and currently in talks with an estate agent over taking on there work. What I am looking for is what is the going rate or rough prices for a condition report as I would be doing a lot of these.. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Cheers

Lots of chat going on about eicr prices at the moment, a full day for a full inspection done to standard, ask if there is limitations though that would take less time. What do you feel is a good rough price?

Hi thanks for reply, to be honest I'm looking to charge £160 a day so if takes a day to do then would ask for that, just didn't want to put that price in if its high. Like I said I'm in talks and they may ask the question of the price, I don't want to be to high but also don't want to be too cheap and it not be worth while.

Hum...... if you want to work for peanuts, offer your services to agents...

You need to try and find the going rate .... but remember there are "sparks" out there doing them for £50!

You need to set up charges for different sizes of properties/number of circuits if you are going to be doing these for an agent.
I too charge a day minimum for any size house, and more for large ones. A recent EICR took two of us 2 days on a £1m detached property for example.

It's maybe a bit academic anyway as usually estate agents will want to pay you half what want, or only as much as the cheapest lassoo waver in town.

£50??!!! How can that be ha. To be honest I may end up staying away from them as won't work for peanuts surly people can't be doing them properly for £50. I will set a price with them its up to them then if they use me most homes around the area they look after are 2 bed semis or 3 bed detached. Thanks for your input though guys much appreciated

The price of £160 isn't really that high.

You'll usually find a small house somewhere between £120 - £150 round these parts.

As Andy says don't just give them one price fits all. One house you may get it done in half a day another might take 2 days.

The people doing them for that price usually are quite surly, yes.
But no, you can't do them properly for that price. It covers enough time to go in, quick look round, write the word "unsatisfactory" and write up the quote for the rewire.

Well hopefully I get there work and will just have to price as I go and see what happens, I won't go to low on prices. Def won't be cutting corners to please them on price.
